“Smart Move” By Prudent Investors Is To Diversify Into Gold
Investors Are Shifting Back Into Gold. It Looks Like a Smart Move by Randall W. Forsyth via Barron’s ◆ With no opportunity cost to holding a zero-yield asset such as gold, investors increasingly are adding it to their portfolios as a hedge. ◆ Gold retains its intrinsic value, something no paper currency has managed to do over history. ◆ Gold is insurance. Insurance isn’t supposed to make you rich; it’s supposed to keep you from being poor...https://news.goldcore.com/smart-prudent-investors-are-diversifying-back-into-gold/$$$ AND AGAIN THE FED. Well when our computer warned that the 2020 election was going to be the most contested and violent, we just saw how it will kick-off. The impeachment trial has ended and it was really a joke. At least Clinton and Nixon committed crimes that anybody else would have gone to prison for committing. This was a serious mistake for the Democrats and it illustrates that the party no longer represents their more middle of the road liberal policies. It was a symbolic battle of this nation’s state of affairs that was on display for everyone to witness. Trump snubbed Pelosi. Pelosi stood up immediately following President Trump’s State of the Union address and tore up the pages of his speech, on camera, as the president began to exit the podium for the entire world to watch. This was throwing down the gauntlet and this election will be the vilest we have perhaps witnessed, surpassing the most notorious confrontations in history since Abraham Lincoln and the start of the Civil War. I will state once again — NEITHER SIDE will accept the result in 2020. The government has ceased to function... https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/international-news/politics/let-the-political-games-begin-battle-to-the-death/
Coronavirus: There we go again:
• 565 deaths (up 72 from yesterday, biggest increase in official numbers to date)
• 28,339 cases (up 3,797 from yesterday’s 24,542, and yeserday’s rise of 3872)
• There are suggestions from China that the increase in cases is slowing, but that’s after yesterday’s record increase. We’ll see.
• At the same time, the increase in severe cases appears to be accelerating.
• 10 more infections on cruise ship off Yokohama
• One thing that’s certainly increasing is the skepticism about the official numbers.
The real breaking news headline out of the Iowa Caucuses that had to be doled out over multiple days in measured bites of data is that Senator Bernie Sanders, who has promised to stop Wall Street’s plunder of the nation’s wealth, is leading the popular vote in the state...
... Following the Iowa Caucuses, Mike Bloomberg, the former Mayor of New York City who self-funded a campaign there to repeal term limits and gave himself a third term as Mayor, announced that he was doubling the ad spending for his Presidential campaign as well as his campaign staff, boosting it to approximately 2,000...
Bloomberg is a multi-billionaire whose wealth derives from leasing financial data terminals to Wall Street’s trading floors around the globe. Bloomberg’s police force bloodied, brutalized, pepper-sprayed and engaged in mass arrests of peaceful protesters during the Occupy Wall Street protests in 2012. (See the video below that was submitted in a court case as an indication of what kind of President Bloomberg would make.) Mike Bloomberg is also the majority owner of Bloomberg News, which announced in November that it would not be allowing investigative reports on Mike Bloomberg or any other Democratic candidate. That policy, however, did not extend to its OpEd columnists. At 6:30 a.m. on Monday, the very day of the Iowa Caucuses, Bloomberg News published an opinion column by Michael R. Strain, the Director of Economic Policy Studies and a resident scholar at the Koch-funded, right wing, climate change skeptic think tank, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). The bold headline screamed: “Trump Hurts the Economy. Sanders Would Be Worse.” The article mapped out a preposterous doomsday scenario of what would happen economically to the U.S. if Sanders were elected, ignoring the legitimate threat of what would happen if Wall Street is not reined in and needs another $29 trillion bailout...
A senior U.S. Navy officer says that his service no longer considers the East Coast of the United States as an “uncontested” area or an automatic “safe haven” for its ships and submarines. This is a product of steadily increased Russian submarine activity in the Atlantic Ocean, including the deployment of more advanced and quieter types that can better evade detection.
Video from President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address shows Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan seated while other Democrats — who throughout the speech mostly refused to join Republicans in applauding Trump — stood to honor Charles McGee.
“The brutal reality is that a predator doesn’t have to be in the same room, building, or even country to abuse a child. And that’s what they’re doing - subjecting children to psychological and sexual abuse.”
