There's no such thing as DIGITAL GOLD

If you can't touch it, you don't own it. All the "digital" property being pushed by various promoters doesn't count in a collapse.

OPEC Raises 2020 Global Oil Demand Growth Estimate

... Oil demand growth in developed economies will be just 90,000 bpd this year, thanks to mature economies in America, but the bulk of global oil demand growth will come from developing Asian economies, particularly India and China, OPEC said. Oil demand growth in non-OECD countries will be 1.13 million bpd this year.  “The low interest rate environment is likely to support economic growth expected at 3.1% in 2020. Moreover, some additional support could possibly come from countries with ample fiscal space, taking the opportunity to borrow at very low rates – or sometimes negative rates – to finance infrastructure projects, which is expected to support the demand for oil,” OPEC said... https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/OPEC-Raises-2020-Global-Oil-Demand-Growth-Estimate.html

Huge Debt Got Us Hooked on Petrodollars — and on Saudi Arabia

The Iranian regime and the Saudi Arabian regime are longtime enemies, both vying for control of the Persian Gulf region. Part of the conflict stems from religious differences — differences between Shia and Sunni Muslim groups. But much of it stems from mundane desires to establish regional dominance.  For more than forty years, however, Saudi Arabia has had one important ace in the hole in terms of its battle with Iran: the US's continued support for the Saudi regime.

But why should the US continue to so robustly support this dictatorial regime? Certainly, these close relations can't be due to any American support for democracy and human rights. The Saudi regime is one of the world's most illiberal and antidemocratic regimes. Its ruling class has repeatedly been connected to Islamist terrorist groups, with Foreign Policy magazine last year calling Saudi Arabia "the beating heart of Wahhabism — the harsh, absolutist religious creed that helped seed the worldviews of al Qaeda and the Islamic State."... https://mises.org/wire/huge-debt-got-us-hooked-petrodollars-%E2%80%94-and-saudi-arabia

Americans Have Been Brainwashed To Accept War Without Question

"Anti-intellectualism seems to be an important ingredient in conditioning the American mindset for war, with the system relying on a population motivated by fear and forgoing critical thinking..."

John Whitehead: Red Flag Nation: Anti-Gun Laws, Sanctuary Cities and the Second Amendment

We never learn.  In the right (or wrong) hands, benevolent plans can easily be put to malevolent purposes.  Even the most well-intentioned government law or program can be—and has been—perverted, corrupted and used to advance illegitimate purposes once profit and power are added to the equation.  The war on terror, the war on drugs, the war on illegal immigration, asset forfeiture schemes, road safety schemes, school safety schemes, eminent domain: all of these programs started out as legitimate responses to pressing concerns and have since become weapons of compliance and control in the police state’s hands.

Mark my words: gun control legislation, especially in the form of red flag gun laws, which allow the police to remove guns from people suspected of being threats, will only add to the government’s power. These laws, growing in popularity as a legislative means by which to seize guns from individuals viewed as a danger to themselves or others, are yet another Trojan Horse, a stealth maneuver by the police state to gain greater power over an unsuspecting and largely gullible populace. Seventeen states now have red flag laws on their books. That number is growing...https://www.activistpost.com/2020/01/red-flag-nation-anti-gun-laws-sanctuary-cities-and-the-second-amendment.html

The Entire Russian Government Resigns As Vladimir Putin Calls For Constitutional Reform

The entire Russian government led by former Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev resigned after Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech on constitutional reform, Reuters reported. Medvedev said, this was “to give President Vladimir Putin room to carry out the changes he wants to make to the constitution.” Medvedev stated the constitutional reforms presented by Putin would make significant changes to the country’s balance of power and so “the government in its current form has resigned”. “All further decisions will be taken by the president,” Medvedev added.

The announcement came during Putin’s annual state of the nation address during which he proposed changes to the Russian constitution that would give Parliament a more powerful role. The changes Putin proposed to the Russian constitution will give more authority to parliament, including the power to choose the prime minister and senior cabinet members, instead of the president as under the current system. Further changes include enhancing the role of regional governors, tightening the residency requirements for presidential candidates and other top officials, and giving the Federation Council, Russia’s upper chamber, powers over the appointment of security officials. “Today in our society there is a clear demand for change,” Putin said during his address. “People want development, they are striving to move forward in their careers, in their education, in becoming prosperous.”...  Putin for Life? https://www.activistpost.com/2020/01/the-entire-russian-government-resigns-as-vladimir-putin-calls-for-constitutional-reform.html

EU leaders finally throw down Iran gauntlet at worst time for Tehran

Iran is reeling from the loss of general Qasem Soleimani and the protests against its shooting down a Ukrainian passenger jet. And now it is facing a potential “snapback” of sanctions, as the UK, France and Germany triggered a dispute mechanism that was part of the 2015 Iran deal. Now it has too much on its hands.

NYT: Trump’s Economic Sanctions Have Destroyed Iran’s Will to Fight | Breitbart

The New York Times noted Monday that one reason the United States successfully stared down the Iranian regime last week was that President Donald Trump’s renewed economic sanctions have made the cost of war too high for Iran to bear.

Fecal Bacteria In California’s Waterways Increases With Homeless Crisis

President Donald Trump, a self-described germophobe, has made no secret of his disgust with California’s growing homeless problem, which he has called a “disgrace” and “inappropriate” and equated to “living in hell.” “We should all work together to clean up these hazardous waste and homeless sites before the whole city rots away,” Trump tweeted about San Francisco on Oct. 26. “Very bad and dangerous conditions, also severely impacting the Pacific Ocean and water supply.”  San Francisco officials were quick to dispute Trump’s claims. But some of California’s most prized rivers, beaches and streams are indeed contaminated with levels of fecal bacteria that exceed state limits, threatening kayakers, swimmers — and the state’s reputation as a bastion of environmental protection...  https://pluralist.com/california-homeless-poop-water-supply/44411
